Jockey® was founded in 1876 by Samuel T. Cooper. Originally named Cooper, the brand specialised in producing high-quality socks, prioritising comfort above all.
The brand reached a pivotal moment in 1935 when Arthur Kneibler, Jockey®’s Sales and Marketing Director, was inspired by a post card from the French Riviera showing a man in a bikini style swimsuit.
This simple post card inspired the creation of the one and only Jockey® brief, revolutionising global underwear habits.
Today, Jockey® products are marketed in over 120 countries, establishing the brand as a global leader in apparel.
